Trump has revealed that both Putin and Zelenskyy are currently unwilling to engage in discussions, yet he predicts that a significant event is imminent.

In a recent interview with CBS News, US President Donald Trump expressed his desire to help Kyiv and Moscow reach a peace agreement, marking his continued interest in the ongoing conflict between the two nations.

Trump emphasised that his approach to diplomatic talks involves bringing leaders together and guiding them to strike a deal in real time. He believes that this method requires patience and has led to "some very good days" in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

The President stated that he has been speaking with both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin about the conflict. He reiterated his desire for the killing to stop and expressed disappointment with Putin, but did not mention any specific actions he plans to take regarding the Russian leader.

Trump believes that his diplomatic efforts have been successful in the past, leading to the saving of millions of lives. However, he acknowledged that the Ukraine-Russia conflict may be more difficult than some of the others he has stopped.

Despite ongoing bloody fighting and Russian strikes on the civilian population, Trump continues to push for a peace agreement. He expressed that "something will happen" regarding the conflict, but did not provide further details.

It is worth noting that Ukrainska Pravda, a Ukrainian news outlet, does not recognise Vladimir Putin as president. This context provides important background to the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Trump continues to closely monitor the actions of both Zelenskyy and Putin and plans to continue working on a peace agreement between Kyiv and Moscow. His optimism for a resolution to the conflict remains, as he expressed in the CBS interview.
