Trump's whereabouts today: On a golf course
In the past week, former U.S. President Donald Trump has been active on social media, discussing a range of topics such as India tariffs, Covid vaccines, and crime.
Last Sunday and Monday, Trump made several posts on Truth Social, his social media platform of choice. On Friday, a White House official confirmed that Trump was holding standard policy and staff meetings.
The White House press office has boasted that Trump is the "most accessible" president in history, a claim that seems to hold true given his recent activities. Trump sat for an hour-long interview with the conservative publication Daily Caller and made 26 public engagements last month, with his most recent being a three-hour Cabinet meeting last Tuesday. Daily Caller White House correspondent Reagan Reese posted on social media that Trump is "very much alive!" in a preview of her interview with him.
Despite his busy schedule, concerns about Trump's health have been raised. In July, Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency. However, his physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, stated that Trump "remains in excellent health." The doctor dismissed images of Trump's bruised hand as "minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin."
Trump's physical activities have not been affected by his health concerns. On Saturday, Trump was spotted by pool reporters on his way to his Virginia golf club, accompanied by his grandchildren Kai Trump and Spencer Trump. Trump posted on Truth Social that he "NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE."
Looking back at Trump's presidency, extended periods at his golf clubs were not uncommon, especially in August. In 2017, 2018, and 2019, Trump spent 14 days each at his Bedminster, New Jersey, club. In 2020, he spent 15 days there, and this year, he has already spent six weekends at Bedminster, plus a weekend at his Scotland golf property and 17 visits to his Northern Virginia golf course, including this holiday weekend.
It's worth noting that Trump's public schedule was uncharacteristically dark for three weekdays at the end of August, with no events scheduled. However, this did not seem to affect his overall engagement with the public, as he continues to make regular appearances and post updates on social media.
In terms of his associates, Nick Fuentes, a far-right activist, had more frequent public appearances with Trump in the past than in recent weeks. A notable instance was a 2022 dinner at Mar-a-Lago attended by Trump, Fuentes, and Kanye West.
As Trump continues his post-presidency activities, he remains a prominent figure in American politics and society, often making headlines for his social media posts and public engagements.
