Turkey dominates 65% of the global drone export market, according to Baykar Chairman's statement
Turkey's advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have solidified their position as the world's most sophisticated weapons, thanks to their cutting-edge technology and diverse munition options.
The Bayraktar TB2T-AI drone recently set a new altitude record in its class, reaching an impressive 40,023 feet. This achievement underscores Turkey's commitment to pushing the boundaries of aerial technology.
Turkey's dominance in the UAV market is evident, with the country controlling 65% of the global export market. Baykar, a Turkish defence company, accounts for an impressive 60% of this market share.
The Bayraktar TB3 UAV has been at the forefront of several significant milestones. It was the first to complete successful short-runway ship UAV landings and takeoffs, a feat initially claimed by the United States and another country. The TB3 has since demonstrated its capabilities 170 times in various weather conditions.
The success of these demonstrations, such as the one during naval celebrations marking Victory Day in Turkey, has been witnessed by official delegations from 42 countries. This global recognition of Turkish UAV technology has not gone unnoticed, with increased interest from countries like Japan and Poland.
The use of Turkish drones not only strengthens their military capabilities but also diplomatic ties with purchasing nations. Baykar, the manufacturer of the Bayraktar TB3, generates 90% of its revenue from international sales, a testament to the global appeal of Turkish UAVs.
Baykar's CEO, Bayraktar, has noted the world-class technology and cost-effectiveness of their UAVs. Advanced electronic systems and munitions for UAVs are developed by Turkish defence companies Roketsan, Aselsan, and TUBITAK, further enhancing the capabilities of these drones.
Poland has shown interest in Turkish drone technology and has attended demonstrations with full operational capability. This increased interest may potentially lead to strengthened diplomatic ties with Japan, further expanding Turkey's global influence.
The success of the Turkish defense industry is appreciated worldwide, with Bayraktar stating that its achievements are a source of pride for the country. The Bayraktar TB3 UAV demonstration was part of the "Victory Journey" event in the Istanbul Strait, symbolising Turkey's victory in the global UAV market.
In a remarkable display of the capabilities of Turkish UAVs, two Bayraktar TB3 drones launched consecutively with 20-second intervals, attacked targets with two munitions each, and successfully returned to land on the ship. This demonstration showcases the potential of Turkish UAVs in a real-world combat scenario, further solidifying their position as the world's most advanced weapons.
