Two adolescents aged 14, accused of vandalism and burglary, apprehended in Seligenstadt
In the quiet town of Seligenstadt, a series of suspicious incidents have occurred over the past few days. The police are currently investigating a string of attempted break-ins and acts of vandalism that have taken place in the residential and commercial areas around Steinweg, Dammstraße, and Frankfurter Straße.
According to the police reports, the suspects, who have been identified as two men, attempted to force their way into two buildings in the courtyard of a residential building on Dammstraße. Both attempts to break through the front door and a terrace door were unsuccessful.
The suspects did not limit their mischief to just these two buildings. Twelve cars were spray-painted, and nine vehicles were forced open in the vicinity of the suspects. Another attempted break-in targeted the gate of a nearby business, but it remained securely closed.
The police were alerted to the suspects' activities when a witness reported seeing two darkly dressed juveniles tampering with a car in the Steinweg area. Upon arrival, the police found scattered tools and gardening equipment in the affected neighbourhood, suggesting that the suspects may have been preparing for further acts of vandalism or break-ins.
The police detained two 14-year-olds based on the witness's information. The two detained juveniles were taken to the police station and processed further. At this time, the police are not seeking any additional suspects.
The estimated property damage from these incidents is over 50,000 euros. The police are encouraging the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. Tips from witnesses could help clarify the full extent of the incidents and potentially return stolen items to their rightful owners.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police are working diligently to determine if these suspects are linked to other crimes. The public is urged to contact the Seligenstadt police station at 06182 8930-0 with any information that may aid in the investigation.
In a recent development, the police reported that the two suspects were involved in recent vandalism and break-in cases, as they were seen forcing open a tilted terrace door around 5 PM as reported in Seligenstadt. However, no further details about the business targeted in the latest attempt have been provided.
The police are continuing their investigation and examinations, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available. The public's cooperation and vigilance are crucial in maintaining the safety and security of our community.
