Two individuals, a woman and a teenage boy, sustained gunshot wounds in an incident taking place in South Shore, according to the police report.
In a distressing turn of events, a shooting occurred in Chicago's South Shore neighbourhood on Sunday morning. The incident unfolded in the 6700-block of South Cregier Avenue around 10 a.m.
According to the police, multiple people inside a vehicle took out guns and opened fire during the incident. As a result, a 16-year-old boy and a 34-year-old woman were outside at the time and were both injured.
The 16-year-old boy was shot three times and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. The woman, who was shot twice in the leg, was taken to the same hospital in fair condition.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting as of the time of the report, and no one is in custody. The suspects fled the scene following the gunfire.
