Two-man kayak event in Cologne's DM brings bronze medal for Miguel Heckhoff with DJK Ruhrwache

In a nail-biting finish at the German Championship, the 500m double kayak final proved to be a closely contested race. The top three teams finished within 1.5 seconds of each other, making for an exciting spectacle.

The race was won by Tim Ole Methner and Timo Gessert, who secured the German championship title with a time of 1:36.28 minutes. Their victory was well-deserved, as they took turns in the lead throughout the race.

The silver medal was initially not awarded to Miguel Heckhoff and Lukas Drossert, but a late change saw them being given the bronze medal on the winner's podium. They finished the race in 1:38.74 minutes, just 0.06 seconds behind the silver medalists, David Nedotopa and Theo Witzleb of RG Sachsen, who also finished with an impressive time of 1:38.44 minutes.

David and Theo's performance was remarkable, as they missed out on the gold medal by a mere 0.16 seconds. However, their second-place finish was a commendable achievement.

Meanwhile, Jacob Schopf and Max Lemke also put up a strong fight, securing the third place and the bronze medal on the award day.
