Two park benches were deliberately lit ablaze
In the peaceful town of Geldern, last weekend saw two unfortunate incidents as two park benches were set ablaze. The first incident occurred early Friday morning, around 06:00, near a vocational college, while the second incident took place Sunday morning, around 07:00, in a park adjacent to a cemetery.
The Geldern Fire Brigade was swiftly on the scene to extinguish both fires. Remarkably, the caretaker of the vocational college managed to put out the first fire using a watering can before the fire brigade arrived.

A hedge behind the second burning bench was also on fire, adding to the severity of the second incident. The Geldern Criminal Police are still investigating both incidents and are urging anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activities to come forward.
