Stranded tourists saved after losing signal and experiencing inaccurate GPS locations on Sattpaev peak, Almaty

Two travelers stranded, with faulty GPS coordinates, were successfully saved from Sattpaev peak in Almaty.

In the heart of the Almaty Mountains, a team of brave firefighters from Almaty's Emergency Services came to the aid of two intrepid tourists who found themselves in a precarious situation.

The rescue operation began after it was established that one of the women was suffering from altitude sickness at an elevation of 4,000 meters. Despite the challenging conditions, visual contact with the tourists was made more quickly than in the previous operation.

The rescue team, however, faced complications due to poor communication and inaccurate coordinates, a stark contrast to the smooth coordination of the current operation compared to the previous one. Nevertheless, the team was able to locate the tourists without having to comb the slope extensively.

The identities of the two tourists remain undisclosed, but it is known that they were not met by their relatives at the eco-post, unlike the previous operation where the tourists' families were waiting.

In a fortunate turn of events, neither of the tourists required medical assistance during the rescue operation. They were successfully escorted down from the mountain and delivered to a different eco-post.

Meanwhile, the rescue operation for Russian alpinist Navitskaya in Kyrgyzstan was called off.

The second woman, unfortunately, suffered an ankle injury and altitude sickness, making an independent descent impossible at over 4,300 meters. The team had to comb the slope to locate her, a stark contrast to the current operation.

Despite the challenges, the team worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of the two women, successfully completing the rescue mission. The two women, though shaken, were grateful for the swift and efficient rescue services provided by Almaty's Emergency Services.
