Two individuals found guilty in a Dubai court for burglarizing a pharmacy, stealing prohibited drugs.

Two unnamed individuals found guilty of burglarizing a pharmacy and stealing prohibited medication receive jail sentences in Dubai.

In a recent court ruling, two Gulf nationals have been sentenced to six months in prison and fined Dh5,400 each for breaking into a pharmacy and stealing controlled substances that require a prescription. The incident occurred in Jumeirah Village, Dubai.

The court's decision was based on evidence presented, including surveillance footage that showed the two men forcing open the door after midnight, taking advantage of the deserted street. The theft was discovered when a pharmacy employee arrived at work and found the front lock broken, shelves emptied, and the premises in disarray.

One of the suspects confessed to abusing narcotics and mind-altering substances, including the stolen medicines. However, the second suspect denied involvement, claiming he was unaware of the break-in. The court found both men guilty of theft and possession of banned substances.

The stolen medicines were controlled substances, an inventory confirmed the stolen items were controlled drugs not legally available without authorisation. The court's ruling was in a case separate from the previous one involving the same two men.

The case was reported by Al Khaleej Arabic daily, but no other individuals were mentioned as being involved in the case. Additionally, there is no record of any previous convictions for either of the men.

Upon discovering the break-in, the employee notified the manager, who alerted the police. The second suspect was later arrested. The court sentenced both men to prison terms and financial penalties.

This incident serves as a reminder of the seriousness of drug-related crimes and the importance of adhering to prescription regulations. It also underscores the efforts of law enforcement agencies in Dubai to maintain the safety and security of its citizens.
