Two youthful individuals, respectively aged 21 and 75, claim the spotlight as Heather monarchs in Amelinghausen.
The small town of Amelinghausen recently witnessed a significant event as the 75th Heide Queen was elected at the conclusion of the annual Heideblütenfest. Emma Kremer, a 21-year-old Jurisprudence student, emerged victorious from six candidates to secure the prestigious title.
Emma will now represent the Samtgemeinde, its five member communities, the district, and the entire Lüneburger Heide region. As the Heide Queen, she is expected to attend around 100 official engagements.
The Heide Queen is a title given to a prominent figure who represents the Lüneburger Heide region. This tradition dates back to 1949, when the first Heide Queen was elected.
Nele Roüp, a former Heide Queen, held the position before Emma and represented the Lüneburger Heide in over 90 appearances. Nele, a 25-year-old Business Administration student, is also among the most well-known Heide Queens. Actress Jenny Elvers, who represented her home region 35 years ago, is another notable figure in the history of the Heide Queens.
The Heideblütenfest is a nine-day festival held annually in Amelinghausen. This year's festival concluded with Emma Kremer being crowned as the new Heide Queen.
As the new Heide Queen, Emma will follow in the footsteps of her predecessors, carrying on the tradition of representing the Lüneburger Heide region with pride and grace.
