UAE and Belgium Enhance Alliance, Recognizing Its Key Importance

United Arab Emirates and Belgium Strengthen Alliance for Global Stability

In a significant move towards global stability, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Belgium have strengthened their alliance. This partnership, vital for advancing shared interests in trade, investment, innovation, and diplomacy, has been identified as a consensus-building force in an era of heightened division.

The UAE and Belgium, both pragmatic actors focused on stability and consensus-building, have seen their bilateral trade reach €7 billion in 2023. This partnership, considered essential for global stability by The Brussels Times, addresses security, economic, and humanitarian priorities.

The humanitarian role of Brussels in Gaza reflects a convergence with the Emirates' proactive approach to crisis response. In this regard, Belgium has delivered 190 tonnes of aid to Gaza through Operation Cerulean Skies 2, making it the second-largest contributor after the UAE.

The alliance is not focused on confrontation but on stability and consensus-building. Future collaboration between the two nations is expected in renewable energy, logistics, and digital innovation.

The partnership between the UAE and Belgium is being institutionalized. In May, Dubai Humanitarian signed an agreement with the EU's humanitarian arm to enhance coordination in supply chains and emergency preparedness. However, there is no available information about the name of a Belgian government member or agency leader who attended the signing.

The agreement was witnessed by Belgian and EU officials. Belgian firms have also left a lasting impact on landmark UAE projects, further solidifying the partnership.

As both nations prepare for a post-oil future, this alliance is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the global landscape. The strategic necessity of this partnership is undeniable, with both nations committed to a future of collaboration and progress.
