UAE criticizes Israeli attacks on United Nations peacekeepers in Lebanon
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strongly condemned the attack on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) positions in Lebanon, which was perpetrated by the Israeli military. The Israeli military reportedly dropped several shells near UN peacekeepers using drones in southern Lebanon near the village of Marwahin in early September 2025.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of the United Arab Emirates issued a statement reaffirming its condemnation of the attack. The MoFA also emphasized that targeting peacekeeping missions is against UN Security Council Resolution 1701. The UAE has expressed its continued support for the peacekeeping efforts of UNIFIL and reaffirmed its support for Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The UAE's condemnation was directed at the Israeli military's actions near UNIFIL positions in Lebanon. The attack on UNIFIL positions is in contravention of the principles of international law, according to the MoFA. The UAE's statement comes after the Israeli military's grenade attacks near UNIFIL positions in Lebanon, which sparked international concern.
