UFC fans were left stunned at UFC Fight Night 260 as referee Jim Perdios controversially stopped a fight just one second before the bell. The unusual decision has sparked debate and appeals from those involved.

In the first round, Jake Matthews had Neil Magny in a guillotine choke, seemingly close to a submission. Matthews' team immediately appealed the ruling to the Western Australia Combat Commission, arguing that the fight should have been allowed to continue.

UFC Executive Dave Shaw acknowledged the referee's decision was unusual. He stated that while the referee has the final say, the commission will review the appeal. UFC commentator Adin Ross expressed his frustration on social media, having $100,000 riding on Matthews' win. Despite initially thinking his bet had won, the fight was allowed to continue, and Magny ultimately submitted Matthews with a D'Arce choke in the third round, securing his victory.
