Unauthorized Entry into Vehicles: Vehicle Theft, License Plate Theft, and Unlawful Waste Disposal in Ohio
In the past few days, the Hersfeld-Rotenburg region has been hit by a series of incidents, including thefts, vandalism, and the illegal disposal of asbestos-containing waste.
On August 21st, approximately 350 kilograms of illegally dumped Eternit-Wellplates were discovered near the industrial area and above a railway tunnel in Niederaula. The Police Headquarters East Hesse has initiated investigations into the illegal handling of waste in this area. In a separate incident, unknown persons stole a grey Seat Ateca (license plate: HEF-MR 255) from a horse farm in the Reckerode district, Kirchheim, between 8:00 PM on Wednesday (03.09.) and 6:00 AM on Thursday (04.09.). The direction of the Seat Ateca's departure from the property is unknown.
During the same timeframe, unknown persons broke into several cars in the Neukirchen district, Haunetal, causing damage to a grey VW Touran, a grey Peugeot, and a white BMW X1. The perpetrators left the scenes without any stolen goods, and the extent of damage to the white BMW X1 is currently unknown.
In another incident, unidentified individuals stole a rear license plate "HEF-YB 888" from a grey Skoda Octavia parked on a parking lot near the train station on Gilfershäuser Straße. The theft occurred between 12:45 PM and 11:45 PM on Thursday (04.09.).
Additionally, unknown persons also stole a low three-digit amount of cash from another car parked on the property in Kirchheim.
The Rotenburg a. d. Fulda police station is asking for tips regarding the stolen Seat Ateca and the theft of the rear license plate. For tips, you can contact the Rotenburg a. d. The illegally dumped Eternit-Wellplates have since been disposed of properly. The public is asked to provide any tips to the Bad Hersfeld police station regarding the incidents in Haunetal and Kirchheim.
