Unauthorized Motor Vehicle Operation
On Thursday, August 21st, at around 1:30 AM, a 36-year-old woman from Blankenheim was spotted by the police on the main street in Dahlem-Schmidtheim. The incident took an unexpected turn when the woman, who was driving a vehicle with reportedly stolen license plates, sped off at an excessive speed upon seeing the patrol car.
The police pursued the vehicle, eventually stopping it on a country road where the woman was taken into custody. Upon investigation, it was found that the woman was not in possession of a driver's license, and furthermore, she was under the influence of cannabis and amphetamines.
The vehicle, which was found to be not roadworthy, was later found parked on a lot in Hochstraße, with its lights and engine turned off. The license plates were seized, and reports were filed for various offenses, including misuse of license plates, violation of road traffic regulations (drug influence), offense against the motor vehicle tax law, violation of the compulsory insurance law as a vehicle driver, and driving without a license.
The woman was subsequently taken to Schleiden police station for a blood test. The investigation is still ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to traffic laws and regulations, especially when under the influence of substances.
