Italy National Team Announces Squad for Upcoming Friendly Against Croatia

The Italian national football team has announced its squad for the friendly match against Croatia, scheduled to take place on August 14th in Gorizia.

The team, coached by Gennaro Gattuso, will feature a mix of established players and promising young talents. Among the veterans is Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, a midfielder for Juventus, who is also a part of the Italy national team.

Joining Caviglia in the midfield are Gaetano Millico from Torino, Marco Pompetti from Inter, Manolo Portanova also from Juventus, and Matteo Stoppa from Novara. The defensive line will be bolstered by the presence of Niccolò Corrado from Inter, Matteo Anzolin from Juventus, Paolo Gozzi Iweru from Juventus, Gabriele Bellodi from Milan, Alex Campeol from Milan, Simone Canestrelli from Empoli, and Matteo Piccardo from Genoa.

In the goalkeeping department, Simone Ghidotti from Fiorentina will be the first choice, with Marco Carnesecchi from Atalanta serving as backup.

The attacking line will see the inclusion of young forward Gianluca Gaetano, who plays for Napoli, as well as Davide Merola, Samuel Mulattieri, Nicola Rauti, Edoardo Vergani, all from Inter, and the versatile Jean Freddi Greco from Roma. Lastly, Nicolò Fagioli from Juventus and Matteo Stoppa from Novara will provide depth and versatility in the forward positions.

This friendly match will provide an opportunity for the Italian national team to test their mettle against a strong Croatian side, ahead of the upcoming international football season.
