On October 17, 2025, the Frankfurt Book Fair will host an intriguing event titled "How are Media, Politics, and Society Changing?" This thought-provoking discussion will take place at the Frankfurt Studio, Foyer Hall 4.0, and will be live-streamed on YouTube for those unable to attend in person.

The event will feature a panel of esteemed guests, including Aline Lüllmann (CEO of the media house), Navid Kermani (writer and recipient of the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade), Prof. Bernhard Pörksen (media scientist), Ricarda Lang (Green politician), and Steffen Mau (sociologist).

Aline Lüllmann, who has co-led the media house since June 2020, has been instrumental in its digital transformation. Prior to her current role, she served as Community and Site Manager from 2011 and played a significant part in building the successful voluntary online payment model of the website.

Navid Kermani, a prolific writer, has made a name for himself with his novels, essays, reports, and monographs, and has been invited to share his insights at the event.

Bernhard Pörksen, a panelist, is a Professor of Media Science at the University of Tübingen and is known for his work on scandal research and collaborations with cybernetician Heinz von Foerster and psychologist Friedemann Schulz von Thun.

Ricarda Lang, a Green politician and a member of the German Bundestag since 2021, will also be present. She served as Federal Chairperson of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen until November 2024.

Katrin Gottschalk, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the media house's website since 2016 and Head of Digital Product Development, will moderate the event. She was previously Editor-in-Chief of the feminist Missy Magazine and is responsible for the digital projects of the media house's website.

The event comes at a time when Germany, like many countries, is experiencing rapid changes marked by global crises, rising polarization, and challenges like right-wing extremism and disinformation. The panelists will discuss the importance of enhancing democratic education, strengthening media literacy, protecting independent journalism, encouraging respectful and transparent political communication, and supporting civil society initiatives that counteract extremism and foster inclusion and interreligious dialogue.

The last printed daily edition of the media house's newspaper will be published on October 17, 2025, with the daily newspaper continuing digitally as an ePaper and online on the website. The weekly newspaper of the website will still be printed on paper on Saturdays.

Early arrival is recommended due to limited seating capacity, and the event is free and open to the public. Don't miss out on this opportunity to engage in a meaningful dialogue about the future of media, politics, and society.
