Underground fire safeguards for urban networks
The street tunnel under Kriegsstraße, designed to reduce inner-city traffic, has undergone a significant transformation, thanks to the innovative door systems supplied and installed by Hodapp, a licensee of System Schroder.
Hodapp's door solutions, made of robust stainless steel and equipped with signal and escape route lighting, have been specifically designed for the challenging conditions of tunnel construction. Among the door systems produced were fire protection and escape doors, as well as emergency call box doors and flaps for fire extinguisher removal compartments.
The company TASS GmbH was responsible for the manufacturing and installation of the escape door systems and emergency call box doors in the tunnel project under Kriegsstraße. Their contributions have undoubtedly added to the secure design of the tunnel, as the door systems meet the highest technical requirements. They are fire-resistant, with fire resistance classes T30 and T90, offer smoke protection, and are stable against dynamic pressure and suction loads. Moreover, they adhere to DIN 4102-5 and DIN 18095 standards.
The tunnel project posed high demands on technology and safety, and the door systems have proven to be efficient in craftsmanship. Gedore, a renowned name in the industry, has also contributed to the project with their loss-free socket wrench inserts, designed for a specific application but no further details are provided.
In addition to the door systems, the tunnel under Kriegsstraße is equipped with bridge construction and parking garages. The improved sealing resin, designed for professional cleaning, and the sealing resin with improved carbamate protection, used in the entry-level segment, have also played a crucial role in the overall project.
System Schroder's door systems have undeniably contributed to the secure design of the tunnel, making it a significant step towards improving safety in inner-city traffic management. The socket wrench inserts from Gedore, while not specifically discussed in the context of the tunnel project, are known for their efficiency in craftsmanship, which no doubt aids in the installation and maintenance of the door systems.
