Unidentified individual escaped following vehicle collision

On Friday evening, a collision occurred between a Ford Transit and a Seat Cordoba at the intersection of Gladbecker Straße / Grillostraße in Essen.

Initial findings suggest that the Ford driver, who is currently unidentified, ignored the red traffic light at the intersection of Grillostraße and sideswiped a crossing Seat Cordoba. As a result, two streetlights were damaged in the collision.

The Seat Cordoba had a passenger, a 19-year-old resident of Essen, who was slightly injured in the collision. The Ford Transit, traveling on Gladbecker Straße towards the city center at around 9 pm, was also involved in the accident. After the collision, the driver of the Ford Transit fled the scene on foot.

The Ford Transit, now no longer roadworthy, has been secured as evidence. The affected area of Gladbecker Straße was closed for the accident investigation.

The suspect is described as being in his early 20s, having a southern appearance, large eyes, a three-day beard, and wearing a grey hooded sweater.
