Uniper experiences departure of Jutta Dönges
Jutta Dönges, a renowned financial expert with extensive experience in crisis management, is set to leave her position as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Uniper, the state-owned energy supplier, to join Aumovio, the automotive division of Continental.
Dönges, who has served as Uniper's CFO since February 2023, played a key role in the company's realignment and capital market capability, as stated by Thomas Blades, the chairman of Uniper's supervisory board. During the COVID-19 crisis, she was instrumental in deploying rescue umbrellas for Lufthansa, TUI, and other companies.
Stefan E. Buchner, the designated chairman of Aumovio's supervisory board, welcomed Dönges' appointment, praising her as an experienced financial expert and outstanding leader. Buchner currently serves as the chairman of the supervisory board of Aumovio, where Dönges will assume her new role.
Dönges' departure from Uniper is not yet clear, but it is known that she will start her new role at Aumovio no later than March. Philipp von Hirschheydt is currently acting as interim CFO at Aumovio.
Jutta Dönges began her career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs. She gained further experience in crisis management, serving as the chairwoman of the Federal Financial Agency from 2018 to 2022. During this time, she oversaw the rescue of Uniper with a multi-billion-euro capital injection at the end of 2022.
The state-owned energy supplier Uniper, Dönges' previous employer, is facing an uncertain future. However, the details of this uncertainty are not discussed in this article. Uniper is subject to the Federal Ministry of Finance, and the federal government must divest its blocking minority by the end of 2028.
Dönges' departure from Uniper as CFO is not mentioned in this paragraph. The succession process for her position at Uniper has been initiated, but the details are not yet public.
Aumovio is set to have an Initial Public Offering (IPO) on September 18, but the specifics of Dönges' role in this process are not provided in this article. Dönges is married and has four children.
This change in leadership at Aumovio and Uniper is expected to have significant implications for both companies. As Dönges brings her expertise to Aumovio, the automotive division of Continental, and a new leader takes over at Uniper, the energy sector will be watching closely.
