University of Washington Introduces Graduate Coursework for Nutrition and Dietetics Professionals
New Graduate Program in Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics Launches at University of Wyoming
The University of Wyoming has announced the launch of a new graduate program in Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics, set to begin in spring 2026. This program, housed in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, will prepare students to become registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) on an accelerated timeline.
The program, directed by Dr. Jennifer Ross, will admit students each spring in a cohort model. Over the course of five years, students can complete a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and the necessary supervised experiential learning hours to become eligible to take the RDN registration exam.
Dr. Ross highlighted that the program will equip students with the skills to work across the United States, with a particular focus on addressing challenges unique to Wyoming and rural areas. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics, ensuring a high standard of education.
Jill Keith, Head of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, emphasised the importance of having practicing nutrition professionals in Wyoming communities. She stated, "Wyoming communities need nutrition professionals to help prevent and address health outcomes."
