New Top-Tier Performance Insignia Arrives: The Insignia VXR SuperSport
Get ready, UK motor enthusiasts! Vauxhall has announced that the Insignia VXR SuperSport will be making its way into UK showrooms starting September. This high-performance model is set to replace the Insignia VXR, which was previously known as a hot rep-mobile.
The Insignia VXR SuperSport is the range-topping Insignia, boasting a powerful 325bhp engine and a top speed of 170mph. This makes the Insignia VXR SuperSport's top speed comparable to the legendary Lotus Carlton.
Vauxhall has not just removed the limiter on the Insignia VXR to achieve this impressive speed. The company has made significant changes to the SuperSport, transforming it into a true performance model.
Priced at £29,995, the Insignia VXR SuperSport offers more than just raw power. For an additional £250, Vauxhall's 'Unlimited Option' can be added, which includes a Blue Brembo logo on the front callipers, a new rev counter, and a speedo with higher increments.
The Insignia VXR SuperSport will officially launch at the Barcelona Motor Show in May. It is expected that Vauxhall will receive the most orders for this high-performance model from the North Rhine-Westphalia region in Germany, due to its large population and strong automotive market.
Interestingly, Vauxhall tested a de-restricted VXR for 10,000 km at the Nurburgring. This testing paved the way for the development of the Insignia VXR SuperSport, which was revealed by Vauxhall earlier this year.
The Insignia VXR, limited to 155mph, has now been replaced by the Insignia VXR SuperSport. This new model is set to redefine performance standards for Vauxhall's Insignia lineup.
