Unlicensed Individual Assaults Passengers, Emergency Workers in Unprovoked Incident

In an unsettling incident that occurred on Sunday evening in Brandenburg an der Havel, a 26-year-old man, who is a citizen of both Madagascar and Nigeria, allegedly caused chaos on the Regional Express 1 train from Kirchmöser to Brandenburg Hauptbahnhof.

The man, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, reportedly refused to leave the train and behaved aggressively. This aggressive behaviour led to a physical altercation, where he is accused of striking a passenger with his smartphone.

During the ensuing chaos, the man allegedly tried to strike a female police officer in the head. The officers responded by using irritant spray to subdue him. Regrettably, two officers were injured during the arrest. A paramedic was on the scene to treat the injured officers.

Fortunately, the 62-year-old German passenger who was the initial target of the assault was unharmed and declined medical treatment. After completing all police procedures, the man was released from the hospital.

The Federal Police have initiated investigations for suspected fraud, bodily harm, dangerous bodily harm, resistance, and assault on law enforcement officers against the offender. The preliminary charges are based on the events that transpired on the train and during the subsequent arrest.
