"Unpleasant Flavor Experienced"
In the city of Wuppertal, passengers using the S-Bahn line 7 between Wuppertal, Remscheid, and Solingen have been experiencing issues with the rail replacement service (S-Bahn-Ersatzbusse). The service, which is operated by Transdev Rhein-Ruhr GmbH under the brand RheinRuhrBahn since December 2023, has been running mostly empty and functioning inadequately.
Recent complaints from passengers include unclear departure stops, long waits at stops for buses that do not stop, and drivers who are unable to provide information about other lines, connections, or schedules. Furthermore, it has been reported that on some occasions, three or more empty buses have arrived at stops simultaneously.
The route of the line has also raised questions among passengers, with some expressing confusion about the route, such as going from Barmen to the city hall in Elberfeld via the Robert-Daum-Platz.
Passengers have voiced their concerns by sending a letter to the editor of the website, unsere Webseite. For those who wish to share their own experiences, there is a link for reader letters available: click here!
In addition to the rail replacement service issues, it has been announced that the DB travel center in the main station will close at the end of the year. This means that the city, which has an ICE station, will have no direct customer contact point.
Delays and cancelled connections have also been reported, causing further inconvenience for passengers. As the situation continues to be monitored, it is hoped that improvements will be made to ensure a smoother and more reliable service for all.
