Unsuccessful theft attempt in the heart of Karlsruhe
On Tuesday evening, a physical altercation took place between two men at Karlsruhe's Kronenplatz. According to reports, approximately six to eight people were in the vicinity during the incident.
The Criminal Police in Karlsruhe have taken over the investigation into the altercation. The two men involved in the incident are said to have met beforehand on Tuesday evening.
The altercation began when the 20-year-old man allegedly demanded intoxicants and alcohol from the 27-year-old. However, the 27-year-old refused the demand, leading to the 20-year-old striking him in the face and attempting to grab him by the neck.
During the struggle, the 27-year-old reportedly overpowered the 20-year-old and choked him until he lost consciousness. The 20-year-old man was reported to have lost consciousness during the altercation.
Bystanders intervened and separated the two men, preventing further escalation of the situation. The 20-year-old man was later taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
