Unveiled at last: Enhanced Tesla Model Y Performance with 460HP power output

Tesla, Inc. has announced the launch of a new Performance version of the updated Model Y, set to be produced at the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg starting September 2025. The Model Y Performance showcases a series of unique features and improvements, setting it apart from its predecessors.

Stylish and Powerful Design

The Model Y Performance boasts a distinctive appearance, with red brake callipers, special badging, puddle lamps, glossy black finishes, and a carbon fibre rear spoiler adding to its sleek design. The vehicle also features the drivetrain from the latest Model 3 Performance, along with new springs, stabilizer bars, bushings, and 21-inch 'Arachnid 2.0' wheels. The Performance model also borrows adaptive suspension technology from the Model 3 Performance, ensuring a smooth and agile ride.

Enhanced Power and Efficiency

The Model Y Performance delivers an impressive 460HP, a 22% increase in continuous power compared to previous versions. This enhanced power translates into a lightning-fast acceleration, with the vehicle able to go from 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds. The Performance model also delivers 16% more peak torque and 32% more peak power than its predecessors.

Interior Upgrades

The interior of the Model Y Performance has been revamped as well, featuring carbon dash and door trim inserts, and aluminium pedals. The dash also houses an all-new 16" touchscreen with thinner bezels and a higher resolution, offering nearly 80% more pixels than other Model Y variants.

Improved Aerodynamics and Structural Integrity

Improvements to the rear body structure increase torsional stiffness in the Model Y Performance, while aero additions result in 10% less drag and 64% reduced lift compared to earlier versions. These changes contribute to the vehicle's improved efficiency and overall performance.

Pricing and Availability

The Model Y Performance is priced at £61,990, £2,000 more than the previous version and £10,000 more than the Long Range AWD. The lease costs are £975 per month on a 36-month deal, compared to £525 for the LR AWD on the same terms.

In conclusion, the new Model Y Performance offers a combination of style, power, and efficiency that sets it apart from its predecessors. With its unique features and improvements, the Performance model is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market. Production of the Model Y Performance will begin at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg in September 2025.
