In the world of animated cinema, the conclusion of a beloved series is always a momentous occasion. Such is the case with "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World", a film that offers an adventure that is equal parts sincere and epic, according to producer Brad Lewis.

At the helm of this final instalment is Dean DeBlois, a Canadian-born filmmaker who has written and directed the "How to Train Your Dragon" films. DeBlois, who has also worked on animated classics like "Lilo & Stitch", "Mulan", and "How to Train Your Dragon", found a kindred spirit in Lewis in creating this film.

The story of "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" focuses on the evolution of the relationship between Hiccup, the main character, and Toothless, the dragon he tamed. Hiccup, now the chief of his tribe, partners with Toothless, who is the alpha of the largest flock of dragons. However, the village of Berk, where the characters live, has become overcrowded with dragons.

Hiccup wonders if he has achieved his dream of the perfect dragon-human existence but quickly realizes it is unsustainable. A far more dangerous threat to the characters emerges, exposing the magical creatures to those with a darker agenda.

Cressida Cowell, the series architect and author of the "How to Train Your Dragon" trilogy, finds it bittersweet to say goodbye to the chapter of Toothless and Hiccup as it is enmeshed with her own life. Cowell, an English children's author known for her work on the series, appreciates that DeBlois shared her vision and that DreamWorks' technologists were able to create state-of-the-art tools for the film.

Everyone at DreamWorks Feature Animation Group shares DeBlois' passion for memorable storytelling. Producer Bonnie Arnold, who has been with the franchise since 2006, believes our heroes are on parallel paths. To Arnold, DreamWorks Animation movies' embrace of the unique is what makes them so distinctive.

In "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World", Hiccup struggles with letting Toothless find his own destiny while Astrid encourages him to trust in her and his own worth. The film embodies an unbelievable friendship told through Hiccup's eyes, according to Arnold.

DeBlois believes that the series has given comfort to people who feel rejected by the world. This sentiment is echoed by Lewis, who has worked on beloved films such as Ratatouille. The "How to Train Your Dragon" series, based on Cowell's books, has become an award-winning franchise, leaving a lasting impact on audiences worldwide.
