Upcoming EU Agenda: Events for the Week of July 21-26, 2025
The European Parliament is set for a busy week, with a series of meetings and delegation trips scheduled from July 14 to 26.
On July 21, political meetings focused on institutional affairs will take place in Brussels. This is not the only event happening in the Belgian capital; from July 14 to 25, various bodies and agencies, conferences, summits, and events focused on applied sciences, competitiveness, digital transformation, popularizing science, and social analysis will take place.
Meanwhile, a delegation from the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee will travel to Washington DC and Richmond, Virginia from July 21 to 23. The purpose of the trip is to discuss deepening transatlantic ties, enhancing collective security, and supporting Ukraine with various U.S. representatives.
In a separate mission, a delegation from the International Trade Committee will visit Brazil from July 21 to 23 to advance the dialogue on the EU-Mercosur Partnership Agreement and strengthen trade relations with Brazil.
Elsewhere, MEPs from the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee will be in California from July 21 to 25. Their agenda includes discussions on company mergers, venture capital, public financing, and the policy and regulatory framework driving California's innovation economy.
Members of the Tax Matters Subcommittee will be in Dublin for discussions on tax policies, the fight against tax avoidance, and tax simplification on July 22.
A group of MEPs from the Special Committee on the Democracy Shield will travel to Taiwan from July 21 to 23. The focus of their trip will be on democratic resilience, foreign interference, cybersecurity, and disinformation campaigns.
Italy is the nation that invites the EU-Russia delegation to visit from July 21 to 26. The purpose of the visit is to discuss governance and antifraud controls of the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). A delegation from the Working Group on the Recovery and Resilience Facility will also travel to Rome to examine Italy's RRF governance and antifraud controls and visit three RRF-funded projects from July 22 to 24.
Lastly, the 16th edition of the ESA-JRC International Summer School on GNSS is taking place in Greece. The event aims to train future generations of scientists and engineers in satellite navigation and space-related applications. Lectures at the event will be provided by internationally-renowned scientists and specialists, covering satellite navigation, GNSS system, signal processing, and determining position-navigation-time (PNT) solutions.
