Upcoming Event: Lafayette's Stunning Art and Wine Festival; Here's All the Essential Info
The Lafayette Art & Wine Festival is set to return on September 20 (10am-7pm) and September 21 (10am-6pm), bringing together over 85,000 visitors to celebrate a vibrant mix of art, music, food, and community spirit. Located just one block from the Lafayette BART station (south exit), the festival offers a convenient and accessible experience for all attendees.
This year's event promises an impressive lineup of over 250 artist and craft booths, showcasing a wide range of items from fine art and jewelry to woodworking, clothing, ceramics, and more. A special "Local Artists Alley" in La Fiesta Square will spotlight Lafayette/Moraga/Orinda painters, photographers, and sculptors.
Music enthusiasts can look forward to four stages of live music, featuring 20+ bands spanning rock, pop, jazz, country, and funk. This year, the festival welcomes five new acts performing for the first time, including Jimbo Scott & Yesterday’s Biscuits, The Bell Brothers Band, Rachel Smith, Random Nature, and David Martin’s House Party.
For families, the festival offers four Kid Zones with rides, games, and activities for all ages, as well as kid-friendly, hyper-local entertainment on the Community Stage. Parking and bike valet are free during the festival, with designated lots and a complimentary bike valet set up at 81 Lafayette Circle (Lamorinda Music parking).
Foodies will be delighted by the variety of local food vendors and restaurants serving delicious options within the festival footprint. Drink-wise, the festival features around 20 wine & beer booths, including selections from local breweries like Lafayette's Headlands Brewing, Moraga's Canyon Club, and Fathers Brewing.
Proceeds from the festival support Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE) and many other nonprofits, with last year's festival earnings giving over $90,000 to schools and charities. Organizers encourage public transit: take BART, and shuttle buses will run continuously between the lot and the event entrance.
