Urban Forest Blaze: Three Fires Erupt in Geraer City Woodland
The peaceful city of Gera was shaken by an unusual series of events last weekend, as three separate fires swept through the city forest.
On Saturday, fires broke out at Dürrenebensdorfer Straße and Dr. Semmelweis Park. The following day, another fire erupted in the forest behind the Gera Zoo. Thankfully, all fires were promptly extinguished, and no injuries were reported.
The Gera Police Inspectorate is currently investigating these arson cases, with the Gera Criminal Investigation Department playing a key role in the investigation. The responsible individuals have yet to be identified, and the cause of the fires remains a mystery.
