Gießen's Outdoor Baths Wrap Up Summer Season

After a mixed summer weather, Gießen's outdoor baths have closed their doors for the season, with the exception of the Ringallee bath.

The outdoor baths in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden, managed by swimming master Sonja Krausmüller, were open for 91 days this season. Approximately 22,000 bathers enjoyed swimming and sunbathing opportunities during this period. However, July was particularly disappointing due to dull and rainy weather, which may have impacted visitor numbers. The exact number of visitors during the summer holidays remains undisclosed.

The outdoor bath Ringallee, an alternative option for swimming and sunbathing after Kleinlinden and Lützellinden close, will remain open until mid-September. Uwe Volbrecht, the head of the Gießen pools, announced that the Ringallee bath will close for the season on Sunday, September 14, 2025. The closing date for the Ringallee bath will be announced through press and the website by Sonja Krausmüller.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, the expectations for the summer season were not fully met. However, the Ringallee bath, which was not open for the full 91 days this season, did not experience the same dip in visitor numbers as the other baths.

It is worth noting that holders of season tickets for the district baths can continue to use them after August 31st. For more information about the outdoor bath Ringallee, visit www.giessener-baeder.de.

As the summer season draws to a close, Gießen's outdoor baths offer a refreshing retreat that has provided respite and enjoyment for thousands of locals and visitors alike. With the Ringallee bath remaining open for a few more weeks, there's still time to enjoy the final days of summer.
