Urges BNP's Farroque for Jamaat to offer an apology for historical missteps, participate in elections

In a recent discussion at the Jatiya Press Club, BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council member Zainul Abedin Farroque called upon Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami to apologise for past mistakes and change their political strategy.

Farroque expressed his belief that no power on earth can defeat the people if the interim government ensures a fair election. He asserted that the BNP, being the party of the masses in Bangladesh, has never betrayed the people while in power.

However, Farroque alleged that conspiracies are still ongoing to derail the election and destabilize the country by Awami League leaders who are now staying in Delhi. He warned that the country's people will resist any such conspiracy.

The BNP leader did not make any new statements regarding Jamaat-e-Islami or their political strategy or election campaign. He did not discuss the issue of Jamaat making demands to delay the election either.

Meanwhile, Jamaat has declared over 300 candidates and started campaigning from mosques and door to door. The party is reportedly making demands to delay the election while preparing for it and seeking votes from the people.

It is important to note that attempts have been made to erase the name of Ziaur Rahman during the 16 years of Awami League's rule, but they could not remove Shaheed Zia's name from people's hearts.

Tarique Rahman, the Acting Chairman of BNP, is credited for the success of the July-August anti-discrimination student movement.

The discussion was arranged by Bangladesh Swadhinata Ghoshok Parishad, with Sheikh Shamim Hasan Onik as the President.

Awami League leaders currently living in Delhi and trying to collaborate against holding the national election under Chairman Prof. Muhammad Yunus could not be identified in the provided search results.

Farroque also stated that attempts are being made to create confusion over the national election under the Prof Yunus-led government by inventing various methods, tactics, and debates such as PR and other issues.

Jamaat's Parwar stated that without proportional representation based polls and July Charter, fascism will return. This statement, however, is not directly related to the previous facts.

The BNP leader did not discuss the issue of proportional representation based polls or the July Charter. He urged Jamaat to change their political strategy and join the upcoming national election.
