Fairfield National Advances to U.S. Title Game of Little League World Series

Connecticut's Fairfield National Little League team has secured a spot in the U.S. title game of the Little League World Series (LLWS) following a hard-fought victory against Summerlin South Little League from Las Vegas. The final score was 7-3.

The win was a testament to strong defense, clutch hitting, and a gutsy pitching performance. SJ Taxiltaridis, the Fairfield pitcher, showed resilience after allowing a three-run home run in the first inning. He nearly tossed a complete game, finishing with four strikeouts and two walks while allowing seven hits and three earned runs.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Fairfield turned a slick 6-4-3 double play to end the inning. Ben Herbst made a key play in the same inning, nailing a runner at home to put an end to Summerlin's hopes.

The Fairfield lineup's first four spots (Pelligrini, SJ Taxiltaridis, D'Amura, Jimmy Taxiltaridis) each had two hits and combined for five RBIs. Luca Pellegrini contributed to the team's lead with a bloop single in the top of the fifth inning, bringing in a run and giving Fairfield a 4-3 advantage.

SJ Taxiltaridis also had a two-run single in the third inning, helping Fairfield tie the game. D'Amura relieved SJ Taxiltaridis, getting the final two outs of the ballgame.

Dante Madera made a crucial defensive play in the bottom of the third inning, recording a flyout with a full extension of his left arm.

The winner of Vegas's losers bracket game will be the second team to play Fairfield in the U.S. title game. Unfortunately, the search results do not provide information about the second team.

As for the international side, the U.S. will take on the winner in the LLWS championship game on Sunday. Fairfield advances to Saturday afternoon's U.S. title game, eager to continue their journey in the Little League World Series.

Vegas plays in Thursday's losers bracket game, aiming to keep their championship dreams alive. The outcome of that game will determine who will face Fairfield in the U.S. title game, adding an extra layer of excitement to the upcoming matches.
