USS Nightmare back at Newport's Riverboat Row on September 12, bringing fresh chills and terror
Get ready for a spine-tingling adventure as the USS Nightmare, a haunted steamboat in Greater Cincinnati, sets sail once again. The boat will be docked on Riverboat Row, near the intersection of Riverboat Row and Columbia Street in front of Newport on the Levee. Limited free parking is available in front of the boat, with additional pay parking nearby.
The 2025 season of the USS Nightmare will kick off on September 12 and continue through October, with varying hours. On Fridays and Saturdays, the boat will be open from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., while on Thursdays and Sundays, it will operate from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. On October 26, a kid-friendly Lights-on Matinee will be held from 4 to 6 p.m.
During your visit, you'll embark on an immersive 30-minute experience across two decks. Along the way, you'll encounter Brother Caleb Ward, the ghostly chaplain of the USS Nightmare. According to legend, his sermons once held back the darkness on the cursed ship. The Chapel, a secret room carved out by desperate crewmen on the William S. Mitchell as a multi-denominational refuge, has been resurrected on the USS Nightmare.
For those seeking a more adult-oriented experience, the Captain's Extreme Show is available. This event features adult language and content, more horror, group separation, and special content. It will be held on November 7 and 8, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on the 8th.
Guests can choose from general admission, fast pass, or front of the line tickets for regular shows. For an even more immersive experience, consider the RIP Experience, an optional show option with more interaction and access to additional areas.
Onsite ticket sales will begin 30 minutes prior to opening for all shows. A captain's season pass is available for unlimited general admission for all regular shows. Ticket prices vary depending on day, date, and ticket type purchased.
The USS Nightmare promises movie-quality effects, chilling soundscapes, original equipment, engaging crewmembers, and award-winning makeup artistry. Don't miss out on this thrilling experience as the haunted steamboat sails into the night! The final regular season show will be held on Saturday, November 1, from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
