In a series of shocking events, a homicide, a fatal accident, and a suspected murder case have left the communities of Pfalzgrafenweiler and Leipzig reeling.
On Sunday evening, a homicide occurred at a shared apartment in Pfalzgrafenweiler. The victim, a 34-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Police Headquarters Pforzheim is handling the case, and no new information about the motive behind the crime has been released.
In a tragic turn of events, a head-on collision on district road 4721 in Pfalzgrafenweiler led to a fatal accident. Two people, a 29-year-old driver of a VW and an almost three-month-old infant, died at the scene. A 22-month-old toddler and a VW driver were taken to hospitals with severe but currently non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, a 37-year-old man, fled the scene with the two children. He was later arrested in Leipzig's Reudnitz-Thonberg district and is in custody on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
The suspect is the ex-partner of the homicide victim, a 42-year-old woman, and the father of the severely injured 10-year-old boy. No new information about the status or current whereabouts of the two children has been provided.
Emergency services, including the fire brigade, the police, and a rescue helicopter, were involved in the operation. District road 4721 was closed for several hours due to the accident. The Institute of Legal Medicine in Tübingen was also called in to clarify the cause of death of the homicide victim.
