Vehicle Inflames on Schloßallee in Bocholt - Fire Department of Bocholt responding to blaze

In an unprecedented incident, the Bocholt Fire Department was called to a vehicle fire on Schloßallee at 19:53 on Saturday evening. Upon arrival, a tow truck was fully engulfed in flames, and the adjacent green strip had also caught fire.

The driver of the tow truck was alerted to the fire by attentive cyclists and managed to stop the truck and escape unharmed. The fire department deployed 10 personnel and 4 vehicles to the scene to tackle the blaze.

To extinguish the fire, the firefighters used a C-jet nozzle and heavy breathing apparatus. Despite the driver's attempts to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher, the flames proved too intense.

The affected area was treated with an oil-binding agent to prevent any further spread of the fire. Due to the use of water, the lower water authority of Borken district and Bocholt's public order office were called in. The police provided support on site.

A contracted disposal company will remove and dispose of the contaminated material. For inquiries, contact Julian Busch at Feuerwehr Bocholt: 02871 2103-0, fax: 02871 2103-555, email: [email protected], website: www.bocholt.de/feuerwehr.
