Venture capital companies set to occupy SparkHaus; open house scheduled for September 22nd

SparkHaus, a new hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in Northern Kentucky, is set to welcome five venture capital firms as its residents. The tenants are scheduled to begin moving into SparkHaus on September 8, with a grand opening celebration slated for Monday, September 22.

Among the five firms are Fireroad Ventures, eGateway Capital, Keyhorse Capital, Commonwealth Seed Capital, and the Kentucky Angel Collective. Each of these firms brings a unique focus and expertise to the table, collectively providing a robust ecosystem for startups in the technology, healthcare, and consumer sectors.

Firerod Ventures, a pre-seed fund, specialises in founders building applied AI and automation solutions for human-centric businesses. They closed their inaugural $5 million fund last year and prioritise founder well-being, offering hands-on support to their portfolio companies.

eGateway Capital, Kentucky's largest venture capital firm, having raised $120 million, focuses on technology and innovation. They invest in late-stage venture and early growth-stage companies with the potential to transform industries and scale globally.

Commonwealth Seed Capital, which has invested over $40 million in Kentucky businesses, invests in early-stage technology companies driving innovation and economic development within the state.

Keyhorse Capital, one of the most active seed funds in the region and supported by the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, is an initiative of the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation (KSTC). They invest seed and early-stage venture capital to support entrepreneurs building and scaling innovative companies in Kentucky.

The Kentucky Angel Collective, a network of angel investors, provides early funding and mentorship to Kentucky entrepreneurs. They officially launched in June 2025.

Connetic Ventures, located near SparkHaus, will have a routine presence within the space. They utilise AI software named Wendal to remove bias in startup evaluation and funding. However, further information about the founders of Connetic Ventures or their involvement with SparkHaus could not be found in the search results.

SparkHaus, located at 727 Madison Avenue in Covington, is a partnership between Kenton County, the Northern Kentucky Port Authority, and Blue North. It aims to offer the resources needed for Northern Kentucky entrepreneurs to launch the next generation of community-changing companies.

Attend the grand opening celebration on September 22 to learn more about these exciting ventures and the opportunities they bring to the Northern Kentucky region. Registration for the event can be found on the provided link.
