New Leadership at DDB and Havas Germany: A Shift in Focus and Creative Direction
Veteran executive Vilhelmsson secures high-ranking position anew in a leading firm
In a significant move, Havas Germany is looking to reinvent itself with Meik Vogler taking on the role of Chief Client Officer. This change comes after the departure of Vilhelmsson, who previously served as CEO at Havas Germany. Vilhelmsson, who left the company a year ago, is now excited to work with a highly motivated team at DDB to further develop Seat and Cupra.
Meanwhile, at DDB Frankfurt, there have been several key appointments. Norman Henkel, previously of McCann and the Porsche agency Keko, has taken over as the new ECD responsible for creative output. Henrike Mertens, with extensive experience in managing large clients and automotive accounts, has joined as Client Service Director.
The strategic leadership of DDB Frankfurt's 50-strong agency remains with Christina Keller, who continues as the Chief Strategy Officer of the DDB Germany Group. Christina Keller will focus more on the brands Cupra and Seat in addition to her tasks within the DDB group. It seems that DDB Frankfurt may be shifting its focus away from Seat and Cupra to win clients outside the automotive industry.
Ute Poprawe, previously the location manager, has assumed the role of Chairwoman of the DDB Germany Group. Ute Poprawe will continue to be available for clients and the team in an advisory capacity. Kris Vilhelmsson, who brings automotive experience to DDB, having worked on brands like Volvo, BMW Motorrad, Opel, Toyota, and Müller at Havas, has taken the role of location manager at DDB.
Vilhelmsson began his career on the industry side at Procter & Gamble before moving into advertising. His departure from Havas Germany was followed by that of Peter Mergemeier, his predecessor at the company, a few months later.
With these changes, both Havas Germany and DDB Frankfurt are poised for new beginnings, bringing fresh perspectives and a renewed focus to their respective creative departments. The future promises to be an exciting time for both companies as they embark on their new journeys.
