Victory for Milan as they secure a 2-0 triumph over Lecce in their first match

In a match marked by Milan's struggle to impress, the Rossoneri managed to secure a much-needed victory against Lecce, winning 2-0 in their latest Serie A encounter.

The first goal of the game came in the 66th minute, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek finding the back of the net after a precise pass from Luka Modric. Christian Pulisic added the second goal in the bottom corner, extending Milan's lead and ensuring a comfortable win.

The match began with Lecce taking the opening chance of the second half, but Mohamed Kaba's scuffed effort did not trouble Milan's keeper Mike Maignan. Milan had their own opportunities to take the lead, with Santiago Gimenez pulling his shot wide when one-on-one with the keeper just before half-time. Matteo Gabbia's goal from a corner was also disallowed due to a VAR check for a push on his marker.

Falcone, Lecce's keeper, made a save on Loftus-Cheek's close-range header over half an hour into the match, while he also parried away a shot from Milan replacement Samuele Ricci.

Milan's attack has been depleted due to the departures of Tammy Abraham, Luka Jovic, Noah Okafor, and an injury to Rafael Leao, leaving them lacking in attacking options. Alexis Saelemaekers was deployed as a makeshift forward for Milan in this match.

Despite the victory, AC Milan's coach, Allegri, showed animosity on the sidelines after the game, aware of the difficulty of the task ahead as Milan finished eighth last season. The new coaching candidate to potentially replace Sergio Conceicao has not been explicitly named in the current search results.

The win against Lecce marks a positive start for Milan in their pursuit of European competition, and they will look to build on this result in their upcoming matches.
