Vienna Vikings Reach Championship in Football
The European League of Football (ELF) final is set for Sunday, September 7, as the Vienna Vikings will face off against the Stuttgart Surge in the MHP Arena.
The Vikings, who won their first title in 2022, are aiming to claim their second championship. They recently secured their spot in the final with a hard-fought semi-final victory over Nordic Storm, winning 28:20.
The game was a close match from the start, with tension never lacking on the packed Hohen Warte. Pajarinen and Mayr scored touchdowns for the Vienna Vikings, helping them turn the game in their favour. Despite an injury to Nordic Storm's quarterback Clark, the visitors managed to equalise the score at 14:14 at halftime.
Meanwhile, the second semi-final in Munich will determine the opponent for the Vienna Vikings in the ELF final. The Munich Ravens, the underdogs in the match against Stuttgart Surge, will be looking to upset the odds and reach their first ever ELF final. The Stuttgart Surge, who narrowly missed the title in 2023, have since rebuilt and refocused, aiming to win the championship in their home city.
The halftime show for the ELF final will feature the Fantastic Four, promising an exciting and entertaining spectacle for the around 5,000 fans expected to attend the game. The final will be a fitting conclusion to the fourth year of the Vienna Vikings in the league, as they compete for their third ELF title.
So, mark your calendars for Sunday, September 7, and get ready for an unforgettable ELF final in the MHP Arena!
