Vietnamese official Lê Hoài Trung assumes the role of Acting Foreign Minister
In a ceremony held in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Saturday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh announced the appointment of Le Hoai Trung as the new Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs. The event was presided over by Prime Minister Chinh himself.
Le Hoai Trung, who has accumulated over 43 years of experience in the field of foreign affairs, will serve as Secretary of the Party Committee of the ministry for the 2025-2030 term. His appointment was a result of the decision made by Prime Minister Chinh.
Before his new role, Le Hoai Trung was Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Party Central Committee Office. His extensive diplomatic experience and formal diplomacy training have been highlighted by Prime Minister Chinh during his speech.
Prime Minister Chinh lauded the achievements of the diplomatic sector and its contributions to national construction and development. He expressed confidence that Le Hoai Trung, along with Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, who has led the diplomatic sector since the start of the term and held various positions connected with the diplomatic service, will continue to utilize their extensive experience in diplomacy.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son was also recognized by Prime Minister Chinh for his role in the diplomatic sector. The Prime Minister underscored the sector's contributions to national construction and development.
Le Hoai Trung expressed determination and commitment to successfully fulfill the tasks entrusted by the Party, State, and Government. He is expected to contribute further to the Party and State's diplomacy.
The ceremony marked a significant change in the leadership of the diplomatic sector in Vietnam. Le Hoai Trung's appointment is a testament to his political mettle, ethical standards, and strategic thinking, which have been recognised by the government.
