VinFast secures financial backing for expanding its business operations
VinFast, the Vietnamese automotive company, is making significant moves to penetrate the European market. As part of its restructuring efforts, the company has announced the acquisition of the Novatech Research and Development division for VND39 trillion ($1.6bn).
The founder and CEO of VinFast, Pham Nhat Vuong, will take control of the division, which will be renamed Novatech Research and Development. This move could potentially aid VinFast's shift into the European market, but the specific use of the fresh funding remains undisclosed.
The restructuring of VinFast aims to streamline its operations and strengthen its financial position. The company is also planning to establish new strategic hubs across Europe to reduce delivery times for parts. These new hubs are intended to enhance the quality of VinFast's aftersales throughout the European continent.
Interestingly, the control of the renamed division will remain with VinFast post-deal. However, the division will not be directly involved in VinFast's European expansion. After the deal's completion, VinFast will lease back intellectual property for vehicle production as needed, but this is not related to the European expansion.
The decision to acquire Novatech Research and Development could be a strategic move to support VinFast's expansion into the European market. The strategic locations and strong partnerships are expected to provide competitive delivery times for VinFast, further bolstering its position in the European automotive market.
As VinFast continues to restructure its business, the acquisition of Novatech Research and Development marks a significant step in the company's journey towards becoming a global player in the automotive industry. With the European market as its next target, VinFast is poised to make its mark on the continent.
