Violent Attackers Overpower Police at Dresden-Pieschen Railway Station
In a disturbing incident that took place on August 23, 2025, a 32-year-old German man attacked his partner at Dresden-Pieschen station. Preliminary investigations suggest that the man was under the influence of alcohol and cannabis.
Upon arrival, patrols from both federal and state police found the suspect attempting to kick his 27-year-old German partner. The officers intervened promptly to prevent further physical assault, but the suspect resisted arrest.
Unfortunately, the resistance resulted in a police officer from the Dresden riot police being injured. The injured officer was taken to a hospital for further treatment. The suspect was also taken to a hospital for medical attention.
The Federal Police's investigation into the incident is ongoing, with the Federal Police Inspectorate Dresden taking the lead. Initial investigations also revealed that the man previously verbally harassed two bystanders. A blood sample was taken from the suspect at the hospital, and it is expected that he will have to answer to charges of assault and resisting arrest.
