VMA Preshow Lineup Announced with Appearances by Jessica Simpson, Stars from 'Hunting Wives' and 'KPop Demon Hunters', and Paris Hilton confirmed as Presenters.
The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) 2025 are set to take place this coming Sunday, September 7, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. This year's event is produced by Gunpowder & Sky, with Bruce Gillmer, Jesse Ignjatovic, and Barb Bialkowski serving as executive producers.
For the first time on a broadcast network, the 2025 VMAs will air live coast-to-coast on CBS, as well as simulcast on MTV and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S. The event will also feature a one-hour preshow ahead of the main ceremony on multiple channels.
The 2025 VMAs will be hosted by LL Cool J, with a lineup of presenters that includes Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, Livvy Dunne, Jessica Simpson and sister Ashlee Simpson Ross, Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman, Nikki Glaser, Megan Stalter, Latto, Ice Spice, and Ciara.
The event promises to be a spectacle with confirmed performances by Mariah Carey, Ricky Martin, Busta Rhymes, Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Sombr, Alex Warren, J Balvin featuring DJ Snake, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, Post Malone, Tate McRae, and Conan Gray. KATSEYE, a first-time VMA nominee, will also perform "Gnarly" and "Gabriela" during the preshow.
KATSEYE is nominated for best group and MTV Push performance of the year. The VMAs see Lady Gaga as the leading nominee with 12 nods, followed by Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar, who each have 11 and 10 nominations respectively. All three artists are up for the top prize of video of the year.
The VMA Extended Play Stage will be part of the 2025 MTV VMAs, featuring Bailey Zimmerman featuring The Kid LAROI, Lola Young, and Megan Moroney. KPop Demon Hunters' member Huntrix (Audrey Nuna, EJAE, and Rei Ami) is also a presenter at the event.
