Voice-activated photography is on the horizon with an innovative mirrorless camera, simplifying content creation by allowing users to control the device solely through verbal commands.

In an exciting development for photography enthusiasts, Camera Intelligence has launched its AI-integrated mirrorless camera, the Vantrue S1 PRO MAX. The camera, which is already available as part of Vantrue's product lineup, was announced with a $2 million seed funding round on September 2, 2020.

The funding round saw support from notable venture capital firms such as Betaworks, F4 Fund, Next Wave via Flybridge, 7pc Ventures, and Digital Catapult. The funds will be used to develop an AI-native mirrorless camera that aims to simplify content creation.

The Vantrue S1 PRO MAX, designed to be used with a smartphone, comes equipped with the latest AI processing chips, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon and a Google Coral Edge TPU chip. This cutting-edge technology is expected to enhance the camera's performance and functionality.

The camera's standout feature is its built-in Large Language Model (LLM), which allows users to ask for what they want in words. This innovative approach to content creation is set to redefine the photography landscape. However, it's important to note that the LLM is not mentioned to be used for image creation in the AI-native mirrorless camera.

The camera, as depicted in early photos, is a boxy mirrorless camera with a grip and a smartphone attached to the back. The compatible lenses for this camera are yet to be specified.

Hillary K. Grigonis, who leads the US coverage for Digital Camera World and has over a decade of experience writing about cameras and technology, penned the article announcing the launch. Grigonis' work has appeared in various publications including Business Insider, Digital Trends, Pocket-lint, Rangefinder, The Phoblographer, and more.

Vishal Kumar, CEO of Camera Intelligence, has a rich background in the camera industry. Prior to his current role, he was the CEO of Alice Camera, a mirrorless camera meant to work in conjunction with a smartphone, but without the voice control AI that Camera Intelligence is touting.

The Vantrue S1 PRO MAX is expected to have a Micro Four Thirds format. The camera will also allow for voice control and in-camera edits, but the demonstration does not show the use of generative AI to create something that's not already there.

While the exact release date for the AI-integrated camera is yet to be announced, this development promises to be a game-changer in the world of photography. As more details emerge, photography enthusiasts can look forward to a more streamlined and innovative content creation experience.
