Volkswagen has revealed the pricing and specifications for its ID. 7 GTX and GTX Tourer models in the UK, with prices reaching more than £60,000.
The electric vehicle (EV) landscape is evolving, and Volkswagen is leading the charge with its latest additions to the ID range – the ID.7 GTX and ID.7 Tourer GTX. These performance-oriented models are part of VW's plan for an electrifying future.
The ID.7 GTX and ID.7 Tourer GTX boast a combined output of 335bhp, with 282bhp at the rear and 107bhp at the front. This powerful setup propels the ID.7 GTX from 0-62mph in just 5.4 seconds, while the ID.7 Tourer GTX takes a mere 5.5 seconds. Both models can charge at a rate of 200kW.
The ID.7 GTX has an estimated range of 366 miles, and the ID.7 Tourer GTX offers a range of 359 miles. These figures make them ideal for long journeys, further enhancing their appeal as high-performance electric vehicles.
The ID.7 GTX and ID.7 Tourer GTX share the same 86kWh battery and a pair of electric motors, ensuring they deliver on power and performance. To complement this, they come equipped with a host of premium features, including 20′′ Skagen Alloys, LED matrix headlights, a body kit, ventilated and heated seats, Harmon Kardon Sound, DCC adaptive chassis, HUD, and Voice Assist with ChatGP.
In contrast, the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer, the company's first electric Estate car, does not come with the same performance statistics or features as its GTX counterparts. However, 'Pro S' and 'GTX' models of the ID.7 Tourer will be available later.
The ID.3 and ID.3 Tourer are also getting a boost with GTX models, offering added sportiness and more power. Volkswagen aims to strengthen its EV segment by offering multiple ID. GTX models, including the ID.3 GTX, ID.4 GTX, ID.5 GTX, ID.7 GTX, and ID.7 Tourer GTX.
The ID.7 GTX and ID.7 Tourer GTX will be available for sale in the UK starting from 1 August. The ID.7 GTX is priced at £61,980, and the ID.7 Tourer GTX is slightly more expensive at £62,6760. The ID.7 Tourer, on the other hand, is available for sale starting from £52,240.
While the success of the Volkswagen ID range of electric cars is a topic of debate, with sales exceeding expectations but not meeting VW's ambitions, the introduction of these performance-oriented models underscores the company's commitment to the electric vehicle market. The ID.7 GTX and ID.7 Tourer GTX are testament to this commitment, offering power, performance, and premium features in one package.
