"Warmth-focused Information Initiative Launches with Over 100 Events in Lower Saxony"

Lower Saxony, Germany, is gearing up for an extensive information campaign titled "Weeks of Heat" from September 1 to October 10, 2025. This comprehensive initiative aims to shed light on the heat transition and provide practical, implementable solutions to help people take the first steps towards a sustainable heat supply.

The patronage for this campaign is held by Lower Saxony's Environment Minister, Christian Meyer. The Climate Protection and Energy Agency of Lower Saxony (KEAN) is organising the event, with support from various regional and supraregional partners.

The challenge for private households, municipalities, and companies in Lower Saxony this autumn is to provide heat cost-effectively, reliably, and sustainably. The focus of the "Weeks of Heat" campaign is on practical approaches such as optimizing the operating and flow temperatures of heat generators, knowledge about heat pumps, and the use of renewable energies for heat generation.

The municipal heat transition in Lower Saxony is progressing with the expansion of renewable energies. In fact, more heat pumps than fossil gas heaters were newly installed in Germany for the first time in the first half of 2025, a significant milestone in the country's efforts to combat climate change.

Many partners, including the Consumer Center Lower Saxony, SHK trade association Lower Saxony, guild of chimney sweeps, and Building Energy Consultants Engineers and Crafts e.V., are available for energy advice during the "Weeks of Heat". KEAN supports partners with a campaign website, a campaign logo, and a financial contribution for larger events.

The topic of "heating" or "heat supply" has been a contentious issue in public discussion in recent years. The partners of the "Weeks of Heat" campaign are organizing events, writing press articles, and participating in public actions to make efficient and sustainable heat supply visible.

Environment and Energy Minister Christian Meyer has assumed patronage for the "Weeks of Heat" campaign. He emphasizes the importance of the heat transition, stating that climate-neutral heat is affordable, secure, and creates jobs in industry and crafts in Lower Saxony.

Over 100 registered events from regional partners are already part of the "Weeks of Heat", with more expected to join. The campaign website, located at www.wochen-der-waerme.de, provides detailed information about the events, partners, and practical tips for a sustainable heat transition.

Join the "Weeks of Heat" campaign and take the first steps towards your personal heat transition. Together, we can make Lower Saxony a leader in sustainable heat supply.
