Weekend in Aachen saw multiple criminal complaints lodged with the Federal Police of NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia)
In an unusual incident on Friday afternoon, a 55-year-old Turkish national was found driving an e-scooter on the A4 highway near Aachen without any license plates. The Federal Police in Aachen, who have been recording various measures since Friday, stopped the man and charged him with a criminal offense.
According to reports, the man was shopping at the time of the incident. However, when police officers approached him, they noticed that the license plates on his car, which he was using to transport the e-scooter, had been stolen earlier that day. To their surprise, the registered license plates were found in the trunk of the car.
The man, who claimed to be a truck driver, was taken to his truck at the Aachener-Land rest area for further investigation. The incident occurred on the A4 highway in Herzogenrath, Germany.
Meanwhile, on Sunday night, another incident took place in Herzogenrath. A 20-year-old German was stopped for issues with license plates on his high-end car around 2 a.m. Officers in Aachen are yet to file any criminal charges against the young man.
While the German incident does not seem to be related to the previous incident involving the 55-year-old Turkish man, further police investigations are ongoing to determine the reason for both incidents.
