Weekly highlights in Tallinn: Top 5 must-attend events coming up

Get ready for an exciting weekend in Tallinn, Estonia, as several events are set to take place from Friday, 12 September, to Sunday, 14 September.

Firstly, the much-anticipated Swedbank Tallinn Marathon 2025 will be held from Friday to Sunday. The marathon, which attracts runners from Estonia and beyond, will take place on Vabaduse väljak. With various distances including the 42 km marathon, half marathon, and shorter distances, there's something for everyone. The route winds through some of Tallinn's most scenic spots, making it a perfect opportunity to explore the city while staying active.

On the same weekend, the Estonian Heritage Days will also be taking place across various venues in Estonia. This year's theme is "Window to the Past, Door to the Future," inviting visitors to explore Estonian built heritage and understand how surroundings shape identity and aspiration.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, 14 September, the Pikk Street Festival will take place in the Old Town, Tallinn, from 5pm. The festival offers a variety of activities, such as antique markets, workshops, concerts, museum exploration, and a giant picnic table with around 250 seats (seats require advance registration).

In addition, the reopened Plastik record store will be hosting a special housewarming event on its opening day, Thursday, 11 September, from 4pm, at its new location, Pärnu maantee 4, Tallinn. The store offers more than 3,000 records, drinks, fresh merchandise, and DJ sessions, but the artist or band performing at the housewarming event remains to be announced.

Lastly, a Literary Street Festival will take place on Koidula Street, Tallinn, although the specific date is yet to be confirmed. The festival celebrates Estonian literature and heritage, featuring talks, readings, performances, and the addition of a new literary landmark each year.

Whether you're a runner, a music lover, a history enthusiast, or a foodie, there's something for everyone in Tallinn this coming weekend. Don't miss out on these exciting events!
