West Ham United Secure First Win of the Season with Impressive 3-0 Victory Over Nottingham Forest

In a thrilling turn of events, West Ham United claimed their first win of the Premier League season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest. The Hammers, who had been languishing at the bottom of the table, put on a spectacular display of football to secure all three points.

The game-changing moment came in the 88th minute when Ibrahim Sangare fouled Crysencio Summerville in the box, leading to a penalty kick. Lucas Paqueta stepped up to the spot and converted, making it 2-0 to West Ham. The Brazilian midfielder's goal was his second of the season and his first from a penalty.

The goals kept coming for the Hammers, with Callum Wilson scoring the third just a minute into stoppage time. El Hadji Malick Diouf provided the assist for the decisive goal. The victory lifted West Ham off the foot of the table and provided a much-needed boost to their season.

The seven-minute goal spree was a testament to West Ham's attacking prowess. Jarrod Bowen kicked off the scoring in the 84th minute with a first-time strike, his seventh goal involvement since the start of April, more than any other player in the division. His goal was followed by Lucas Paqueta's penalty and Callum Wilson's late winner.

The Hammers' performance was particularly impressive given that it was their first three-goal haul in the final 10 minutes of a Premier League match since their 5-3 victory over Tottenham in October 2020. On the other hand, Nottingham Forest suffered a 3-0 loss, their first by three or more goals in a Premier League game since their 8-1 defeat to Manchester United in February 1999.

It's worth noting that Callum Wilson and Jhon Duran are tied for the most Premier League goals scored as a substitute since the start of the 2022-23 season, with eight goals each. Meanwhile, Darwin Núñez has scored the most Premier League goals as a substitute overall, having netted 25 goals in 95 Premier League games, many of them coming off the bench.

This victory marks a significant turnaround for West Ham United, who will be hoping to build on this momentum as they continue their Premier League campaign.
